There is a heartbeat that sits beneath us all, deep under a surface of water and soil. For me, home is where the sounds of her heart are the loudest, where I feel her embrace under the soles of my feet. She is salt water and fertile soil, rivers running cold and rain streaming windows. She is sunlight and moonshine. She embodies my mother. And my father. Holding my siblings at her chest, guiding us wherever we go. She has led me to the other end of the earth, and still she holds me, calling me home. Reminding us all that no matter where, or when, or how- home is in her heartbeat, and her heartbeat is in us all
